I’m writing to let you know that our wonderful Poppy Appeal Organiser for Godmanchester, has recently retired from the Poppy Appeal and I am actively looking for a volunteer who might like to take on the role of Poppy Appeal Organiser in the town, and was wondering if due to your knowledge of the local area, you might possibly know of someone that might like to help with the role?

It would involve ordering some merchandise, poppies, collecting tins, and delivering a number of boxes of poppies and tins to businesses and shops in the town just before launch day (24th October) These are then collected in after Remembrance Sunday, and the donations are then counted and banked. (Last year there were 8 boxes of poppies delivered in the area).  Maybe you might know a group of people or a couple of friends that might like to carry out the role together?  If you know of anyone that might be interested in the role please do let me know. I am very happy for you to pass my email address to anyone that might like some more information about volunteering for the Poppy Appeal.

I am attaching the link to the RBL website, if your organisation would like a wreath for this year, in case the Poppy Appeal Organiser role isn’t filled.  (Poppies might not be  available throughout the town if there were no organiser in position before October).
