Roadside Weeds

HDC is responsible for cleaning detritus that collects in the gutters and has a dedicated team to provide this service.  If there are any problems or hot spot areas, it can be reported on the HDC website.

CCC Highways are responsible for kerbside weeds.  They have a new weed killer policy.  Previously they proactively sprayed weed killer along the road edges, channels and backs of footpaths.  However, the new policy is now reactive.  So, residents now need to report the areas that need weed removal on CCC’s report a fault interactive map.

Operatives will come out and access the weeds and will only clear if they think they are dangerous, either a trip hazard or a visibility hazard.

This new policy is currently being assessed and a report is being presented to county council in August.
