40TH ANNIVERSARY OF TOWN TWINNING

On 28 July 2022, a delegation from Godmanchester Town Council attended the delayed 40^th Anniversary celebration of our being twinned with Wertheim am Main in that town. We were received by the Oberburgermeister, Markus Herrera Torrez, and the Wertheim Partnerschaftskomitee (their twinning association), where there was an exchange of civic gifts and the Mayors of Godmanchester, Huntingdon and Wertheim resigned the twinning charter. The Mayor of Godmanchester (Cllr Dick Taplin) presented a commemorative Jubilee Plate to Wertheim which had been specially produced by Trevor Dyer Ceramics in Pinfold Lane (see photo above).

Godmanchester is also twinned with Salon de Provence (FRA), Gubbio (ITA) and Szentendre (HUN).
