As Covid-19 safety requirements meant the cancellation of our Christmas Market, the Town Council decided to contribute towards Godmanchester’s Festival of Lights.

Working alongside local groups and organisations in Godmanchester, the aim of the festival was to light up the town and raise the spirits during this unusual Covid-19 Christmas.  With contributions from teh churches, Godmanchester in Bloom, the Community Association, the Museum and Comrades Club, there was plenty to see and enjoy over the Christmas period.

In addition to the annual lights along the Causeway and the familiar Christmas tree, the Town Council decided on having a light show on School Hill,  Produced by a local Huntingdon firm, the spectacular animated display of video and festive messages was projected onto the walls of the Town Office, bringing the building to life over the holiday period.  Many people stood out in all weathers to view and enjoy the presentations and the Council received many messages of thanks directly and via social media for which we are very grateful.  We hop that as a result we we able to bring a little light to some very dark times.
